Snyder Gauge Company introduces to the L.P. industry the first patent pending gauge to determine the wear of male POL fittings.
These fittings are used throughout the industry in millions of installations as the main connection to transfer liquid and vapor L.P. gas.
Due to connecting and disconnecting these fittings, the male threads will become worn after a period of time. Some installations will only be connected once in their lifespan, while others will be connected and disconnected hundreds of times a day, as with the case of dispenser usage.
It is not possible to visually determine if the connector being used is worn out and unsafe to connect to tank pressure L.P. gas or the additional differential pressure delivered by the L.P. liquid pumps.
The main application of this gauge is to be available at the dispenser, bottle dock, company or customer sites, bobtails, or anywhere liquid or vapor is transferred on a regular basis.
The POL safety gauge, or PSG, has been engineered by its thickness and inside diameter to easily check a male POL fitting in the field, and identify worn out fittings Out of Service, before an accident due to the worn threads happens. |
